Matt Lockwood makes huge comparison between Celtic ace and Harry Kane

Celtic ace Leigh Griffiths has stunningly been compared to that of Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

The 27-year-old was given this huge compliment by retired Dundee defender Matt Lockwood, who witnessed the Scotland international score in the Hoops’ recent 2-0 win over Dundee.

The pair were team-mates at Dens Park and Lockwood believes that Griffiths has to start the upcoming Old Firm derby against Rangers.

“Leigh is a bit like Harry Kane”, Lockwod said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.

“He just wants to see the back of the net ripple and you would put your mortgage on him scoring against Rangers if he gets the chance to do so.”

Griffiths has been left out of some recent Celtic matches with manager Brendan Rodgers preferring either Moussa Dembele or Odsonne Edouard for the lone striker role.

He returned to the starting line-up against Dundee and rewarded Rodgers with a goal, his ninth of the season so far.

Brendan Rodgers has a big decision to make regarding the hit-man for Saturday’s game against Rangers, as he has a good recent record in the Old Firm derby, scoring in his last two appearances, the 5-1 win at Ibrox last season and the 2-0 win at the same venue in September.

Unfortunately for Griffiths, Rodgers is likely to choose Dembele to be the lone striker for the game against Rangers, as he was rested for the match against Dundee and only player the last fifteen minutes of the game.
