Blackburn vs Ipswich postponement update as Met Office announce new weather warning
Blackburn and Ipswich could yet see their Ewood Park clash postponed for a second time already this season.
The pair are set to go head-to-head in the Championship on Tuesday night, as they aim to complete the game at the second attempt, after their meeting earlier in the season was abandoned in controversial circumstances.
The clash with Ipswich was abandoned with Blackburn 1-0 up in the 80th minute, but the EFL eventually decided that the game would need to be replayed in full.
Valerien Ismael and his side were left seething with that decision, and with the rearranged fixture now on the horizon, a similar situation could be about to repeat itself in the coming days.

Blackburn issued with yellow weather warning for rain by Met Office
The previous clash between Blackburn and Ipswich was complicated further by the fact that the visitors had been reduced to 10 men during the game.
The EFL have ultimately decided that the game will be replayed in full, as if it were a completely new fixture, but they will surely now be concerned again with the latest weather update in the North West.
There is a yellow weather warning in place from the Met Office across Monday and Tuesday, which stretches across large parts of the Greater Manchester and Lancashire regions.
Heavy rain is expected in the area across both days, with interruption to services and power supplies “likely,” and flooding even noted as a potential possibility.

There are seemingly no plans for a pitch inspection at Ewood Park ahead of the Ipswich clash at the moment, but that situation could easily change prior to kick-off if a significant amount of rain falls.
Ipswich have an excellent recent record against Blackburn
Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna attracted interest from Celtic recently, with his team slowly beginning to climb the Championship table.
- Ipswich’s last defeat to Blackburn came in January 2019
- They have won four of their last seven meetings with Blackburn
The Tractor Boys will climb into the play-off places if they claim all three points at Ewood Park in the midweek encounter, and their recent record against Blackburn should have them full of confidence ahead of the game.
The Suffolk outfit have lost just one of their last seven games against Blackburn, according to 11v11.com, and with that in mind, they will surely be desperate to get the game on.
Ironically, the prior meeting this season was likely to have dealt them their second defeat on that spell, and McKenna’s men will surely be desperate to make the most of their second chance.
