Bojan Miovski starts, big name axed: Rangers predicted XI vs Falkirk

Rangers have enjoyed some strong Premiership form in recent weeks and are aiming to continue that at home against Falkirk this weekend.

Danny Rohl has turned the tide at Rangers in the last few weeks since taking over following the sacking Russell Martin last month.

The Scottish giants have lost just two of their last seven games, with four straight league wins in that time pushing them back up to fifth in the table with games in hand on the two teams above.

Rangers drew 1-1 with Braga in the Europa League on Thursday (27 November) as a James Tavernier penalty was cancelled out by Gabri Martinez.

They now face Falkirk at Ibrox on Sunday (30 November) aiming to extend their unbeaten run to four matches, and Football Insider have predicted the team that Rohl could pick to get back to winning ways.

Rangers predicted XI vs Falkirk

Jack Butland is set to start in goal, having done so in all 12 league games so far, while Rohl will stick with captain Tavernier and consistent Premiership starter Jayden Meghoma at right and left-back respectively.

Rangers are struggling at centre-back after Nasser Djiga was slated by fans for his showing against Braga, but he looks set to stay in the side next to in-form youngster Emmanuel Fernandez in the centre of defence.

Nico Raskin‘s future at the club is unclear, but will surely keep his place in central midfield next to Conor Barron. Mohammed Diomande was sent-off late on in midweek, and while he can feature in this league game regardless, Rohl is likely to hand Thelo Aasgaard a start instead in attacking midfield.

Djeidi Gassama has been a bright spark for the Gers despite a lack of real output, and seems a shoo-in on the left-wing, while Oliver Antman should be restored to the starting eleven on the right flank and Bojan Miovski deserves a start up-front after his decent performance off the bench last weekend against Livingston.

Rohl wants signings in January but faces tough striker situation

Rangers’ early-season woes saw them slip towards the bottom of the Premiership table, but Rohl has got them playing some better football and they will have aspirations of being in the title race with Hearts and Celtic towards the end of the campaign.

He is bound to want to add players to his squad in January, and the Gers have already been linked to some names after Football Insider revealed on 21 November that Rangers want to sign David Watson on a cut-price deal from Kilmarnock as they aim to capitalise on his contract situation.

The 23-year-old would be a stellar addition to their midfield ranks, especially with Rangers expecting offers for Nico Raskin, but the one area in which they clearly need to address may well be left as it is already.

Football Insider recently revealed that Rangers are reluctant to spend big on a striker in January, despite Rohl’s desire to bolster his forward line.

He needs the likes of Miovski, Danilo and Youssef Chermiti to start scoring regularly and lessen the need for a new forward signing, and the former could begin doing so this weekend against Falkirk.
