Borna Barisic will leave Rangers after terms agreed – sources

Borna Barisic will leave Rangers once his contract comes to an end this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed the left-back has held talks over a move to Trabzonspor.

Football Insider revealed the Croatia international has now agreed terms with the Turkish club ahead of his exit from Ibrox

The Gers haven’t offered Barisic a new contract and are unlikely to do so, with his current deal set to expire at the end of June this year.

Football Insider revealed last month the 31-year-old is happy to bring his time in Glasgow to an end after spending the past six years at the club.

Borna Barisic likely to leave Rangers this summer

There looks set to be a number of changes at Rangers this summer as Philippe Clement aims to stamp his authority on the club.

The Belgian has revealed he is planning a “big” rebuild at Ibrox ahead of the transfer window reopening in a matter of weeks.

The Gers missed out on the Scottish Premiership title to Celtic after their Old Firm rivals secured a 5-0 victory over Kilmarnock this week.

Barisic looks set to be one of the players leaving this summer barring an unexpected twist taking place.

Rangers

The Croatian has been a constant in the Rangers starting lineup since making the move from his hometown club Osijek in 2018.

The defender has made 236 appearances for the Light Blues during that time, scoring 10 goals and laying on 54 assists.

Barisic could be joined in heading out the door by John Lundstram, Kemar Roofe, Ryan Jack, Leon Balogun and John McLaughlin, who are also out of contract this summer as Clement looks to revamp his squad.

In other news, John Lundstram now expected to leave Rangers after “whispers”.
