Chelsea have to pay extra £10m for Alex Scott after masterclass vs Everton – verdict
Alex Scott proved to be Bournemouth’s star man on Saturday as he scored in the 1-1 draw against Everton.
The midfielder was picked out on the edge of the box and managed to guide a wonderful strike into the bottom corner to help secure the Cherries a point at the Vitality Stadium.
This display comes amid heavy speculation that the 23-year-old could leave the club before the transfer window closes on 1 September.
Chelsea have been linked with Scott for months and are now reportedly preparing a mega-offer for the midfielder.
It has previously been reported that Bournemouth value the youngster at around £90million.
However, this may have now increased to £100m after his recent display against the Toffees.
How good was Alex Scott vs Everton?
Scott was no doubt outstanding against Everton.
Despite coming up against a tricky Toffees side, the midfielder ran the show and was easily the best player on the park.
According to Fotmob on 29 August, Scott had a 0.26 xG, a 0.28 xA, created two chances, completed 81 per cent of his passes, had one shot, completed three tackles, made nine recoveries and won seven out of 14 ground duels.
Therefore, if The Independent’s report is correct and Bournemouth did value Scott at around £90m, surely this has increased by another £10m after this display.
This could be awful news for Chelsea as they look to finally get their hands on the midfielder. However, it remains to be seen if they will make a bid for Scott before the transfer window closes.
Who else could Chelsea sign this summer?
In recent weeks, Chelsea have also been heavily linked to Adam Wharton.
The midfielder is no doubt one of the best players in the Premier League at present as he continues to impress for Crystal Palace.
Recently, Chelsea were placed as the bookies favourites to sign Wharton before the transfer window closes at 2/1.
However, with the 22-year-old having such an important role at Palace, they are unlikely to let him go without a fight.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen what business Chelsea will complete before the transfer window closes.
