Bradley Barcola wows, Desire Doue dismal – PSG ratings as Super Cup snatched from Tottenham
PSG had their substitutes to thank after staging a last-gasp comeback against Tottenham in the UEFA Super Cup.
The French side went into the Super Cup as heavy favourites, having dismantled Inter in the Champions League final last season.
Luis Enrique’s side were also imperious domestically, whilst their opponents faltered to a 17th-placed finish in the Premier League.
But on a warm night in Italy, Thomas Frank‘s men shocked the Parisians with two goals from defenders Micky van de Ven and Christian Romero on either side of half-time, giving Spurs a shock lead.
However, substitute Lee Kang-in pulled one back late on, and Goncalo Ramos’ last minute equaliser sent the match to penalties, where a Nuno Mendes goal gave PSG the win.

PSG stage comeback after lifeless start v Tottenham
Lucas Chevalier – 3
Oh dear… Lucas Chevalier was signed to replace Man City target Gianluigi Donnarumma. The French shot-stopper made a horrendous start to life, letting Romero’s header slip through his fingers.
Achraf Hakimi – 2
Flat. That word could be used to describe all of PSG’s starting XI, but Achraf Hakimi lacked the usual energy that makes him one of the world’s best.
Marquinhos – 3
Wiped out. Marquinhos was barged into for Tottenham’s opener and looked shaky throughout with Richarlison running his countryman ragged.

Lucas Chevalier struggles in PSG debut
Willian Pacho – 3
Much like his centre-back partner, Pacho struggled to deal with Richarlison’s liveliness and was lucky that Spurs were not more ruthless in front of goal.
Nuno Mendes – 3
Absent. What set PSG apart last year was not their frontline or world-class midfield; it was the fact that they had the best set of fullbacks on the planet. Against Spurs, they were both silent and had no impact whatsoever.
Warren Zaire-Emery – 6
Creative. Warren Zaire-Emery enjoyed a strong game before his substitution, creating three chances, but his forwards wasted all of them.

Vitinha – 4
Vitinha usually sets the pace from the heart of the midfield but against Tottenham, the diminutive ex-Wolves man was chasing shadows.
Desire Doue – 1
Miserable. Desire Doue was the star of PSG’s Champions League final victory over Inter. Against Tottenham, he was the worst player on the pitch.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – 5
Forced to play on the right to accommodate Barcola, Khvicha Kvartskhelia showed effort, but lacked end-product.

Ousmane Dembele finds life late on
Ousmane Dembele – 5
Ousmane Dembele was shut down for the first 91 minutes of the match, but his stunning whipped cross picked out Fabian Ruiz for the equaliser.
Bradley Barcola – 8 – Player of the Match
Bradley Barcola has been linked with a move to Liverpool, and the French winger was dangerous throughout, until was forced off with an injury after finding the back of the net, but his goal was disallowed for an offside.
Substitutes
Fabian Ruiz (on for Kvaratskhelia 60′) – 7
The Spaniard added a touch of class in the midfield after coming on, adding tempo to a game that was losing its life.
Ibrahim Mbaye (on for Barcola 67′) – 6
The young winger added good energy to his side, even if his end product was lacking.

Lee Kang-in (on for Zaire-Emery 67′) – 8
The South Korean winger was a game-changer for his side, desperate to get on the ball and have an impact. His goal was fabulously well struck.
Goncalo Ramos (on for Doue) – 7
Added structure to his side and his goal highlighted the way his presence changed the tempo of the match.
