Brendan Rodgers now in running for Premier League job as fifth manager set to lose job
Premier League clubs have been ruthless this season, with four managers already having faced the chopping block.
The latest saw Vitor Pereira sacked by Wolves, with his side earning just two Premier League points from their opening 10 fixtures.
The Portuguese coach had signed a new three-year contract extension in September, but was shown the door and replaced by Middlesbrough boss Rob Edwards.
Graham Potter was sacked by West Ham in September and subsequently replaced by Nuno Espirito Santo, who had been sacked by Nottingham Forest for issues off the pitch.
Nottingham Forest hired and then fired Ange Postecoglou, with the Australian’s tenure lasting just 39 days before he was replaced by Sean Dyche.

Daniel Farke nearing the boot at Leeds United
Daniel Farke has two games to escape the sack at Leeds United, with the Whites having lost five of their last six Premier League fixtures.
The situation at Elland Road turned toxic when Leeds were beaten by Aston Villa on Sunday, with one disgruntled fan attempting to confront the German in the dugout.
Leeds United – results
Leeds 1-2 Aston Villa
Nottingham Forest 3-1 Leeds
Brighton 3-0 Leeds
Leeds 2-1 West Ham
Burnley 2-0 Leeds
Leeds 1-2 Tottenham
The Whites had gone ahead early on through Lukas Nmecha, but failed to capitalise on the position and fell to a Morgan Rogers brace in the second half.
A tough first season back in the Premier League had certainly been expected, but there is a feeling that Leeds will be relegated should they stick with Farke until May.
With consecutive matches against Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool approaching within the next week, however, the German is in serious danger of the sack.
It was reported by talkSPORT on Thursday that Brendan Rodgers, who was recently dismissed at Celtic, would be keen to return to the Premier League.
The Northern Irishman, along with Postecoglou, would be among the contenders for the Leeds job if Farke is shown the door in the coming weeks.
Leeds fans will love what Brendan Rodgers said
Rodgers is likely best known for his time at Liverpool, where his side dramatically lost the 2013-14 Premier League title by just two points.
But the 52-year-old enjoyed stints with Swansea City and Leicester City in the top flight, too.
Speaking ahead of the Foxes’ clash with Leeds in 2020, Rodgers said: “Leeds are a great club with a great tradition here in the British game, and they have been out of the Premier League for such a long time.”
The Northern Irishman could now have the chance to take the reins at Elland Road himself, with Saturday’s action set to prove key.
