Brenden Aaronson only Leeds star returning ‘from what I’m hearing’ – expert
Brenden Aaronson is set to be the only Leeds United loanee returning to play for the club in the Championship next season.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who is very well connected at his former club, revealed he’s heard Aaronson will be the only loan player Daniel Farke will look to integrate back into his squad at Elland Road.
The USA international was one of several players to leave the West Yorkshire club on temporary deals following their relegation to the Championship last year.
The 23-year-old joined German side Union Berlin on loan last summer, where he started in 15 of his 38 appearances and registered just four goal contributions.
It has now been revealed Aaronson will return to Leeds next season after having a positive conversation with Farke about the upcoming campaign.
Brenden Aaronson to return to Leeds after Union Berlin loan
Robinson believes the attacking midfielder could “do a job” for Leeds in the Championship as they go in pursuit of promotion back to the Premier League again.
“From what I’m hearing, it’s only Brenden Aaronson, of the loan players, that’s coming back in,” he told Football Insider.
“I think the manager is quite keen on integrating him back into the squad and into the side next season. He’s had a decent loan.
“But for all the other loanees, Leeds are going to have to cut their cloth accordingly, move these players on and get the best price they can.
“Aaronson is the one that’s going to come back in and the manager is quite willing to use him and integrate him into a Championship side next season.
“I think he’ll be okay in the Championship.

“He’s a little bit like a wasp in a bottle at times, but with the way Daniel Farke plays, he could structure him in and tie him down to a position.
“I think he was too lightweight in the Premier League, but he could do a job in the Championship for Leeds.”
