Medical expert: Kristoffer Ajer has head injury after ‘unusual’ Brentford training ground incident
Brentford star Kristoffer Ajer has suffered a concussion after an “unusual” training ground incident.
That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis.
Ajer, 24, did not feature in the 0-0 draw with Tottenham last Saturday (23 April).

Per The Athletic ahead of the clash at the Brentford Community Stadium, the centre-back has a concussion after being hit in the face with a ball.
Dinnery explained that Ajer’s head injury is “not something we see every day” as most concussion incidents are caused by a clash of heads.
“It’s unusual because the most common cause of a concussion is body-to-body contact,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“A concussion is caused by a jarring impact that causes the head to move backwards or sideways in a quick fashion.
“Internally, the brain is hitting off the inside of the skull.
“From what Frank described, it appears that Ajer was not aware of where the ball was.
“If a player is going to head the ball, they have time to brace the neck ready for that impact. But when you aren’t aware, you can’t set yourself.
“It’s not something that we hear about every day but these things can happen because of the dynamic nature of the sport.”

Ajer signed from Celtic in July last year in a £13.5million switch.
The Norwegian international has supplied two assists across 24 matches in his first season with the Bees.
