Medical expert salutes Adam Lallana after ‘excellent news’ at Brighton
Brighton midfielder Adam Lallana has managed to stave off severe injuries of late because he has become more tuned into his body.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Lallana, 33, has had a stop-start season and suffered his fourth muscular injury of 2021-22 in the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool last Saturday (12 March).

But Lallana, who has struggled with injuries throughout his career, has missed no more than one league match across each of those four setbacks.
As quoted by Sussex World on Tuesday (15 March), Seagulls boss Graham Potter revealed that his hamstring issue was likely only a “minor” setback.
Dinnery saluted the 34-cap former England international for minimising the severity of his muscular problems.
“This is his fourth muscular setback of the campaign,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“There have been lots of niggly problems with Adam Lallana since the start of this season.
“Fortunately, what we have historically seen is that none of his problems tend to be at the higher end of the scale.
“That’s testament to him. As you get a little bit older and wiser, you understand the inner workings of your body a bit more.
“You know when to push through things and when to take that step back.
“It’s been caught in time and it’s more of a precautionary withdrawal as opposed to anything sinister.
“That’s excellent news for him, and the international break comes at a good time for him to work on that recovery.”

Lallana has supplied one assist in 22 appearances this season.
Brighton, who were beaten 2-0 by Tottenham last night (16 March), are 13th in the Premier League after six straight losses.
