‘Massive, Bring him in’ – Tottenham fans react to confirmed Ryan Mason news

Tottenham fans have sent their sympathy to Ryan Mason and urged their club to sack Thomas Frank and hire him as an interim boss after he was dismissed from his position as West Brom manager.

Frank is under pressure at Spurs right now after a troublesome first few months in charge following his move from Brentford to become their new manager.

They have picked up just 27 points from 20 Premier League games so far, and currently occupy 13th place after a run of one win in their last five outings.

Former Tottenham midfielder Mason came under similar scrutiny at West Brom after a poor start to the season, and their form has failed to improve in recent weeks after four losses in their last five games.

The Baggies lost 2-1 to Leicester City on Monday night to extend their losing run on the road to 10 outings, and Mason has now lost his job with the club sat 18th in the Championship.

Mason has been sacked by West Brom after summer move from Spurs

Mason featured 70 times for Tottenham as a player, and first joined their academy coaching set-up in 2018, before being named as their first-team interim boss in 2021 after Jose Mourinho’s departure.

He held the same position two years later after the exits of Antonio Conte and Cristian Stellini, then acted as an assistant to Ange Postecoglou from 2023 until being appointed Baggies boss in June 2025.

Mason’s failure to guide Albion into promotion contention has seen him relieved of his duties after seven months in charge, with the club officially confirming his exit on Tuesday morning.

Former Spurs midfielder Michael Carrick is the early favourite to be the next West Brom boss, with many fans of the North London club moving to react to the news of Mason’s departure online.

Tottenham fans send mixed reactions to Mason sacking

Some Tottenham fans urged their club to reappoint Mason as an interim manager to replace the under-fire Frank, with one saying: “I’d take him right now. Just want to feel something. Is that wrong? Maybe. But football fandom is about feelings.”

Others insisted that no such return should happen, with one fan writing: “Any #THFC fan wanting Ryan Mason to return to (Spurs) needs to give their heads a massive wobble. It’s NOT going to happen….”

While some were sympathetic towards their former player and coach, as one fan said: “Gutted for Ryan Mason! #COYS”
