Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford react to Jadon Sancho amid Man United exit saga

Jadon Sancho is expected to leave Manchester United this summer and his cryptic message has fuelled speculation further.

The 25-year-old joined Man United in a £73million in 2021 following an impressive spell at Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.

The ex-Manchester City academy talent was loaned out last season, but Chelsea didn’t activate an option to purchase Sancho permanently.

The England international is one of five players who have told the club he wants to leave in this window, and Man United could include him in a swap deal.

Another player widely expected to depart is 27-year-old Marcus Rashford who is a target for Spanish giants Barcelona, following a loan spell at Aston Villa last season.

Rashford and Man United captain Fernandes, who turned down a move to Saudi Arabia earlier in the window, both liked Sancho’s latest Instagram post which was captioned with a shrug of the shoulders emoji.

Man City defender Manuel Akanji and Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah both responded to the post with fingers crossed emojis.

Whilst Villa left-back Ian Maatsen commented with an eagle emoji.

Clearly not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans, the forward needs a move away from United to reinvigorate his career.

Sancho has been tipped to move back to Dortmund over a transfer to Serie A side Juventus.

His spell at Dortmund was a success and the German club have a history of taking young English talent and they still need a replacement for Jamie Gittens, who has joined Chelsea.

Any move to Juventus has been confirmed as a non-starter due to Sancho’s high wage demands and the logistics of swapping players.

Sancho therefore may have to make a compromise to ensure a move materialises as he will not be getting minutes under Amorim and is not part of his pre-season squad to the USA.

Amorim too needs the winger to leave to free up a space in his squad for further signings as finances are tight at Man United.

The only major signing at Old Trafford so far has been Matheus Cunha from Wolves, and Amorim wants Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo.
