Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount react to Manuel Ugarte’s ‘amazing’ Liam Delap message

Manuel Ugarte sent a message of appreciation to Manchester United fans as well as appearing to mock Liam Delap after the team battled back to secure a dramatic victory over Ipswich.

Man United came from behind to win 3-2 at Old Trafford in a thrilling contest on 26 February, despite going down to ten men.

Onana and Patrick Dorgu were heavily criticised after a mix-up at the back that gifted Jaden Philogene an open net to give Ipswich the lead.

However, United responded quickly with two goals before Dorgu’s night got worse when he was sent off. In the end, Harry Maguire’s second-half header sealed the hard-fought victory.

Ugarte played the full 90 minutes in midfield alongside Bruno Fernandes, delivering a solid display with three tackles and winning eight ground duels.

After the final whistle, he shared a message celebrating the team’s resilience, earning reactions from his teammates.

Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount react as Manuel Ugarte thanks Man United fans

Ugarte took to Instagram after the win, sharing pictures from the game, including an incident involving Liam Delap. His caption read: “Back to winning ways. Amazing atmosphere at Old Trafford. Thanks for the support. Let’s go.”

Fernandes showed his appreciation by liking the post, along with teammates Diogo Dalot, Leny Yoro, and Mason Mount.

Ugarte has been backed by Man United supporters despite a slow start to life at Old Trafford. He has been a regular under Ruben Amorim, who previously managed him at Sporting CP, and has made 31 appearances this season.

However, his aggressive style has occasionally landed him in trouble, with former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett suggesting Ugarte was lucky to avoid a red card against Everton.

Amorim remains under pressure from Man United fans, with the team struggling to show clear progress since his appointment in November.

United currently sit 14th in the Premier League, level on points with West Ham and just one point above Everton—both of whom who had relegation scares earlier this season.

However, the character shown in the Ipswich victory, particularly after going down to ten men, could provide a much-needed confidence boost ahead of their FA Cup clash with Fulham on 2 March.
