Bruno Fernandes angling for new Man United role after journalist’s update – Agbonlahor

Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted Bruno Fernandes will want to be “front and centre” of the rebuild at Man United as he puts pen to paper on a new deal.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 27-year-old will be determined to take the Red Devils “back to where they want to be”.

According to Fabrizio Romano (1 April), Fernandes has extended his Man United stay until June 2027, with an official announcement imminent.

Romano claims the Portugal international has become one of the three highest-paid players at Old Trafford.

Fernandes has scored nine goals and contributed 14 assists in 39 games across all competitions this season.

Agbonlahor insisted the midfielder won’t have been deterred by Man United’s faltering Premier League campaign this term.

“I think he’ll still be looking at Man United and seeing them as a big club,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.

“Even if they don’t get Champions League – he’ll want to be part of this project and this rebuild.

“He’s been so good since he arrived, he’s such an important player. He’ll want to be front and centre going forward with the new manager coming in.

“I’m not sure where he would go if he were to leave Man United. He’s suited to that club, and I’m sure he’ll want to take them back to where they want to be.”
