Bruno Fernandes ‘consulted’ as Ruben Amorim’s Man United future remains uncertain

Man United have potentially moved a step forward to sacking under fire manager Ruben Amorim amid the club’s form under the Portuguese boss.

Owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has backed Amorim at Man United, but the pressure still remains to deliver results with the club lying 10th in the Premier League table.

Man United’s 2-0 win over Sunderland could have been crucial for Amorim’s future, although the Red Devils have never won back-to-back games during his tenure.

That record looks set to continue with Man United face with a trip to champions Liverpool next after the international break.

Man United squad ‘consulted’ on Ruben Amorim

Amorim has been called a “problem” by a former Man United striker, and as per The Mirror [12 October], the club have been speaking to players to ask for their thoughts about the manager.

[Omar] Berrada and [Jason] Wilcox are understood to be leading recent discussions between the club’s hierarchy and the playing squad,” The Mirror reported.

Captain Bruno Fernandes is among those who have been consulted, while other opinions have also been sought.

It has been suggested the conversations were casual in nature and not necessarily designed to evaluate Amorim’s standing at the club as such.

“Nevertheless, it is not the sort of activity one would normally witness at a club where everything is functioning seamlessly.

Amorim will continue to face pressure at Old Trafford until results and performances improve, with the club already lining up a list of potential replacements.

Man United fixture list does not get easier for Amorim

The fixture list does not give Amorim any extra comfort that consecutive wins will be forthcoming with two of the top three to play in the next four games.
