Bruno Fernandes, Dias reacts to message from Joao Felix as ‘Chelsea decision made’

Man United’s Bruno Fernandes and Man City ace Ruben Dias reacted to a message from Joao Felix after Chelsea made a decision regarding the Portuguese forward.

Felix re-joined Chelsea for a second stint in the capital last summer, but quickly fell out of favour under Enzo Maresca.

The 25-year-old struggled to find a place in the Blues’ starting XI, with the Italian manager favouring star man Cole Palmer behind Nicolas Jackson and Jadon Sancho on the left wing.

Felix left to join AC Milan on loan on January Deadline Day as he searched for more consistent game time, favouring the move to Italy over a temporary switch to Aston Villa.

But during his time in the Serie A, the former Barcelona man has hardly set the world alight, scoring just two goals and assisting none in 15 appearances.

With Felix set to return to his parent club this summer, it looks likely he will once again be on the move.

Joao Felix joins up with Portugal squad ahead of Chelsea return

Felix posted several images of himself on Instagram as he joined up with the Portugal squad ahead of their Nations League semi-final against Germany.

The forward captioned the post simply with the word “Portugal”, and his international teammates Dias and Fernandes liked the post.

Joao Felix gets his Conference League medal but Chelsea career looks over

Football Insider Verdict

As reported by MailOnline, Chelsea made the decision to give their on-loan players Felix, Axel Disasi, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Renato Veiga medals, following their Conference League final victory over Real Betis.

But whilst his contributions to their success in the competition has been recognised, it seems like a near-certainty that the 25-year-old’s career is over in West London.

Chelsea will sign Liam Delap from Ipswich this summer, and with Maresca’s side also interested in Brighton’s Joao Pedro, there seems to be no place in the squad for Felix.

Should the Blues press ahead in their pursuit of the versatile Brazilian, they will likely need to sell to be able to afford the 23-year-old.

Where Felix goes next is unclear. His skillset does not seem particularly well-suited to the Premier League and Serie A clubs will struggle to afford his wages, making a return to La Liga or Portugal, if he is willing to take a pay cut, the most likely destinations.
