Bruno Fernandes reacts to Diogo Jota after Liverpool clash at Everton
Man United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has reacted to Diogo Jota after the Liverpool forward’s latest social media message.
Jota and his side were left frustrated on Wednesday (12 February) after being held to a 2-2 draw by Everton in the final Merseyside derby to be played at Goodison Park.
Liverpool were unhappy with the opening goal scored by Beto in that game, which came from a quickly taken free-kick most felt should not have been awarded.
Although Arne Slot‘s men turned things around to lead 2-1, James Tarkowski’s volley deep into stoppage time in the second half snatched a point for the Toffees.
In the aftermath there were furious scenes at full time with players and officials from both Liverpool and Everton involved in scuffles on the pitch.
Following that result, the Reds now sit seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table, with 14 games of the season still to be played.
Bruno Fernandes shows support for Diogo Jota after Liverpool disappointment
Despite the setback of that late equaliser they conceded, it appears Jota, who came off the bench late on at Goodison Park, is determined to respond to that quickly.
Taking to his Instagram page, the striker insisted that the only way forward for Liverpool was to fight together, as they continue their quest for silverware this season, writing: “There’s only one way… and it is to fight together reds”
Despite the rivalry between the Anfield club and Man United, Fernandes was one of those seemingly keen to show his support over that message.
The midfielder, who is a teammate of Jota’s at international level with Portugal, was among those to like that post from the Liverpool striker.

Arne Slot’s side in a strong position despite Everton disappointment
Football Insider Verdict
Missing out on those two extra points in such circumstances will no doubt be rather tough to take for those around Anfield.
Even so the seven point lead that Liverpool have at this stage of the season is still a strong one, so they can be optimistic about their title chances.
That is especially the case when you consider the attacking crisis engulfing their closest rivals Arsenal, following the injury setback for Kai Havertz.
The situation at the Emirates will likely make it even harder for them to chase down Arne Slot’s side, who as Jota has suggested, may be galvanised by this late equaliser they conceded.
Liverpool will surely now be determined to bounce back from that frustration, and they will not want Evertonians to be able to claim their late goal cost them the league.
As a result this is going to provide more incentive than ever to pick up positive results, which can only be a good thing in the title race.
