Bruno Fernandes reacts to Marcus Rashford with the pair set for Man United exits

Manchester United could see both Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford depart this summer, and the pair have been interacting on social media.

The Red Devils suffered their worst-ever Premier League finish last season, managing just 42 points as they ended the campaign in a lowly 15th place.

To make matters worse, United were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham in the Europa League final, meaning that there will be no European football at Old Trafford in 2025/26.

Despite their dismal domestic finish and lack of silverware, Ruben Amorim is expected to remain the Man United manager and will be given the summer to attempt a rebuild of his underperforming squad.

Fernandes and Rashford near exits

Over the past few days, Fernandes has been linked with a move away from Man United, and a number of Saudi clubs are attempting to secure his signature.

The Portuguese midfielder was hugely important for Amorim’s side this season, scoring eight Premier League goals in 36 appearances, as well as picking up 10 assists.

However, teammate Rashford fell out of favour under the 39-year-old manager, and in a bid to kickstart his career, went on loan to Aston Villa.

After injury curtailed his spell in the Midlands, the winger has taken to social media to show the latest stage of his recovery.

On Instagram, Rashford posted a video doing sprint training, with the caption: “The work don’t stop! Let’s go.”

United captain Fernandes liked the post to show support for his hard work.

Rashford must leave United

Football Insider Verdict

During his time at Aston Villa, Rashford showed glimpses of his best, driving at defenders with pace and netting a few goals for Unai Emery’s side.

However, as of right now the winger is still a Man United player, but he must leave Old Trafford this summer for the good of his career.

Barcelona looks the most likely destination for Rashford as things stand, but the England international may struggle to get into Hansi Flick’s starting XI.

With a World Cup just around the corner, in 2026, the attacker must be playing regular football at a good level to stand a chance of forcing himself into the thoughts of Thomas Tuchel.

If the 27-year-old can find a club that enables him to rediscover his best form, then an international call up is far from out of the question, and Rashford still has time to back up among the world’s elite.
