Bruno Fernandes sends heartfelt message to Mason Mount after Man United latest
Man United captain Bruno Fernandes dispatched a heartfelt message to Mason Mount after the side’s latest pre-season fixture.
Man United were crowned winners of the latest edition of the Premier League Summer Series despite a 2-2 draw with Everton in their final match of the pre-season tournament.
Fernandes gave United the lead from the penalty spot, only for Iliman Ndiaye to equalise with a brilliant strike. Mount then restored United’s advantage with a composed finish, before misfortune struck once more through an own goal from Ayden Heaven, following a botched clearance from Amad, to level things up again.
Even though Mount has been linked with a potential exit from Man United this summer, manager Ruben Amorim appears keen to keep the midfielder as part of his pre-season squad.
Following Mount’s impressive display, Fernandes shared a dedicated message to his teammate on social media, recognising the midfielder’s performance and impact in the game.

Fernandes posted a photo on his Instagram story featuring himself and Mount, both of whom scored in the match, alongside the caption: “My guy” with a heart emoji.

Despite the visible camaraderie between the two midfielders, former United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Man United are prepared to consider offers for Mount this summer.
The former Chelsea star has endured a difficult spell at Old Trafford, missing 23 matches last season due to two separate hamstring injuries. That came after a frustrating debut campaign, where he was sidelined for 27 games.
Some Man United fans have previously called for Mount to be sold, given the lack of availability ever since his £60 million move two years ago.
Man United could sanction Bruno Fernandes sale amid interest

While Fernandes was quick to show support for Mount, his own future at Old Trafford is far from secure.
Football Insider revealed on 4 August that Manchester United would be open to selling Fernandes if a “huge” offer were to arrive this summer.
The Portuguese midfielder turned down a move to Al-Hilal earlier in the window, despite the Saudi club being willing to spend £100 million on him.
However, interest from Saudi Arabia has not gone away, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr now being linked. Given United’s financial position, a major bid could prove too tempting for the club to reject.
