Bruno Fernandes tells ex-Man United teammate ‘We will celebrate together soon’

Bruno Fernandes has taken to social media to send an emotional message to one of his former Man United teammates.

This has been a dismal season for the Red Devils, who are languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

That is despite the best efforts of the Portugal international, with Fernandes winning plenty of paudits for his Man United performances.

Following a dramatic Europa League quarter final win over Lyon for Ruben Amorim’s side, the Old Trafford club could atc least still claim some silverware this season.

Fernandes though, seemingly also has his eyes set on another type of celebration in the not too distant future.

Raphael Varane receives message from Bruno Fernandes

Back in the summer, Raphael Varane left Old Trafford following the expiration of his contract with the club.

The Frenchman had spent the previous season with the Red Devils, making 95 appearances in all competitions, winning an FA Cup and League Cup in that time.

Varane would then announce his retirement not long after leaving Man United in the wake of a knee injury, despite the fact he had only signed a two-year deal with Italian side Como in the summer.

On Friday (25 April), the former centre-back marked his 32nd birthday, with Fernandes among those to pay tribute to the Frenchman.

Taking to his Instagram story, the current Man United captain shared a historic post of the pair together, with a caption that read: “HB Rolls-Royce. Enjoy your day my friend and we will celebrate together soon.”

Man United fans will have their eyes on another celebration

Football Insider Verdict

While Fernandes may be looking forward to celebrating with Varane, Red Devils fans will hope he is also celebrating the Europa League title in the near future.

It has been an extremely disappointing for Man United, and ending that with a trophy would provide some welcome tonic to that.

Success in the Europa League would of course also provide the boost of qualification for the Champions League for the 2025/26 campaign.

That would be hugely important from both a footballing and financial perspective ahead of what will surely be a busy summer transfer window at Man United.

With that in mind, there is likely to be some more work for Fernandes and co. to do before he can focus on reuniting with the likes of Varane at the end of the season.
