Bruno Guimaraes: Midfielder ‘can rat’ as Newcastle debut footage emerges – pundit

Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on the “immense” Bruno Guimaraes after Newcastle United beat Everton on Tuesday night.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League striker claimed the 24-year-old is the “all-action player” the Magpies have lacked for a long time.

On 30 January, Newcastle completed the signing of Guimaraes in a £40million from Lyon.

The centre-midfielder made his debut as a late substitute on Tuesday as Eddie Howe’s side boosted their survival hopes with a 3-1 win over Everton.

As captured by BT Sport (8 February), Guimaraes showed off his Brazilian flair in the victory.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Guimaraes, Campbell said: “Guimaraes is an all-action player.

“Not only can he rat and tackle but he can offer quality at the top end of the pitch as well.

“He is a very, very good player and he is exactly what Newcastle need. They’ve lacked a midfielder like him for quite a while. He’ll be delighted to make his debut on such a night.

“It will be interesting to see how he adapts to playing in the Premier League. There is no doubt he has immense quality but sometimes it take players time to adjust and adapt to the Premier League. It is different to Ligue 1.”
