Bruno Guimaraes new contract ‘already signed’ after Newcastle United source’s update – pundit
Newcastle United will announce Bruno Guimaraes’ new contract after the World Cup.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Brazilian’s future.
On 31 October, sources told this site that the Magpies are confident of agreeing a mega-money new contract with the 24-year-old.
The midfielder’s current contract runs until the summer of 2026.
He has been in sensational form for Newcastle this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in 11 appearances.
McManus expects the contract is already signed.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if it was already signed,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“It’s just a bit close to the World Cup and maybe they want to hold off putting too much pressure on him. I think it will be announced when he is back in Newcastle and he has the rest of the season ahead of him.
“I can’t imagine Newcastle are holding back and not offering it to him. He is so, so good and they need to tie him down for as long as possible.
“There can’t be a hesitation there. So I would guess it is just a matter of time until everything gets announced. Newcastle will probably want to make a big deal out of it and they can’t do that while he is away in Brazil.”

Guimaraes has been transformative for Newcastle, helping the club avoid relegation at the end of the 2021-22 season.
His five goals after joining from Lyon helped the Magpies finish 11th.
