Bruno Guimaraes will be at Newcastle for ‘a long, long time’ after report – pundit
Bruno Guimaraes is “unbelievable” and “loves” playing for Newcastle United.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Magpies’ new hero.
Spanish publication AS have reported (21 April) that Real Madrid have identified Guimaraes as a transfer target for 2023, as they look to refresh their midfield options.
The 24-year-old Brazil international joined Newcastle from Olympique Lyonnais in January and signed a four-and-a-half-year contract.
He has so far scored three goals and chipped in with one assist in 12 Premier League appearances.
Kenny has been blown away by what he’s seen from Guimaraes during his first months as a Magpie.
“What a start from him, the fans love him already,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It’s not hard to be loved up in Newcastle, just try hard and play well.
“By all accounts this guy is unbelievable and he is that calibre of player Newcastle want.
“He seems to love playing up there as well, you can see it in the way he celebrates and how he treats the fans.
“I think they have a new hero up there and I think he will stay there for a long, long time with the project Newcastle have.”

Guimaraes initially struggled for game time at Newcastle due to the form of Jonjo Shelvey, Joelinton and Joe Willock in the midfield.
He has six Brazil caps to his name.
