Bryan Gil told to ‘get out’ of Tottenham after source’s swap reveal – expert

Alan Hutton has suggested Bryan Gil needs to “get out” of Tottenham.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back urged Gil against waiting around for injuries to be given a chance in the team.

On 22 January, Football Insider revealed that the Lilywhites are offering Roma one of three stars as part of a potential swap deal for Nicolo Zaniolo, one of which is believed to be the 21-year-old.

The Italian side are willing to sell Zaniolo this month but are holding out for a £30million permanent deal.

The London club spent almost £22million on Gil back in 2021 when he put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Spaniard has made just four Premier League appearances for Spurs this season for a total of 148 minutes.

When asked whether Gil sees his future at Spurs, Hutton told Football Insider:I still think he will be considering leaving, either on loan or permanently.

Richarlison is on the bench, he is not starting. There is [Dejan] Kulusevski, [Heung-min] Son, [Harry] Kane and those two are always going to play.

It is going to be difficult. As much as I like him as a player, he looks a little bit lightweight. He does work hard but for the Premier League he has probably found it a little bit difficult.

His attributes are more suited to the likes of Spain where it is more technical and that is where he could flourish.

He got game time when there was injuries but is he willing to wait about for that? I do not think so. I think he needs to get out and play football.

In other news, a pundit has issued ‘brutal’ Heung-Min Son verdict after ‘ludicrous’ development at Tottenham.
