Bryan Gil: Tottenham loanee’s value could skyrocket to ‘£80m’ as Barcelona move mooted – Insider

Tottenham could loan Bryan Gil to Barcelona or Real Madrid this summer.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Gil, 21, joined Valencia on loan until the end of the season on Deadline Day (31 January).

This came after he failed to start a Premier League game following his arrival in the summer of 2021.

Wenham claims Spurs could raise Gil’s value to around £80million if he joins one of Spain’s top clubs.

“He’s boosting his reputation massively over in Spain. Everyone was raving about him after his assist against Barcelona at the weekend,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I just wonder if we could loan Gil to Barca next season. Then he’s playing Champions League football and boosting his value.

“Could we loan him to another massive club like Real Madrid and have him play every week over there.

“Then Tottenham would own this kid who is starting week in week out for a major club, he’s also a Spain international so he’s looking a snip at the price we got him.

“You are talking about a player worth £75million or maybe even £80million at that point.

“I’m interested in that angle now because of how well he is doing in Spain.

“The fans in Valencia love him but there is no way they will be able to afford him.

“I’m now interested in how much we can build his value if he isn’t playing for us.

“I don’t see him having a role in the current Tottenham side but he has a long contract.

“I think Barcelona absolutely would take him on loan. They spent a fortune on Ferran Torres.

“Is Gil worse than him, I don’t think so.”
