‘Bryan Mbeumo to join Man United squad amid major breakthrough news’

Bryan Mbeumo’s highly anticipated move to Man United has received a fresh update as the winger edges away from Brentford.

The 25-year-old has been a huge success during his time at the Gtech Community Stadium, most recently notching 20 goals and eight assists last season, his best record in a single campaign.

Football Insider understands that Mbeumo will be a Man United player, with confidence growing over a deal being secured, but just one week remains until the club’s pre-season tour kicks off.

Ruben Amorim‘s side are set to face rivals Leeds United before games against West Ham, Bournemouth, Everton, and David De Gea’s Fiorentina, and the manager would love to have all players available.

Of course, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Antony are all set to return from their loan spells this summer, and while their exits are a top priority, United supporters are desperate to sign Mbeumo.

Bryan Mbeumo edges closer to Man United move

According to The Telegraph (12 July), Brentford forward Mbeumo is expected to arrive at United later this week before the squad’s pre-season tour across Stockholm, Sweden, and America.

It is understood that a major breakthrough in negotiations is expected in the coming days, with the club hoping to add the winger to the signings of Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon.

The Red Devils’ £60million offer was rejected by the Bees last month, with the club holding out for a fee closer to £65m, though it is believed that United are not panicking over a deal just yet.

Red Devils make much-needed changes at Old Trafford

Football Insider verdict

The Red Devils’ form was a rollercoaster journey last season, winning just 11 of their 38 Premier League matches while also reaching the final of the Europa League in Bilbao.

Amorim is already under pressure as Man United boss, but without a summer transfer window under his belt, it feels unfair to judge the manager’s abilities after only arriving from Sporting CP in November.

Signing Mbeumo could certainly change the entire attack going forward, combining with Cunha, Amad Diallo, and Bruno Fernandes in the final third, but there is a lot of business still to be done.

As previously mentioned, multiple unwanted stars will be returning for pre-season training, and Football Insider understands that Rashford’s exit saga could drag into the late stages of the window.

Garnacho also has no future at United after falling out with the manager, and with Chelsea and Aston Villa both credited with interest, it should be simple to offload the young, exciting winger.

Supporters are on the edge of their seats waiting for new arrivals to emerge at Old Trafford, but with a breakthrough still needed in Mbeumo’s deal, they will need to wait a little while longer.
