Burnley to land big Vincent Kompany payout – Kieran Maguire

Burnley are set to receive a “significant” compensation fee from Bayern Munich if they complete a deal to appoint Vincent Kompany.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that Kompany’s compensation payout will be a big bonus for Burnley following their relegation.

As revealed by Football Insider, a deal between Kompany and Bayern Munich is close after Burnley owner Alan Pace met with Bayern representatives on Wednesday night to discuss a compensation package.

The German giants have been on the lookout for a new manager after deciding to part ways with Thomas Tuchel at the end of the 2023-24 season.

Kompany was unable to secure Premier League survival for Burnley during his first top-flight campaign as manager but he still remains well-respected in coaching circles.

Maguire explained that the compensation package received for Kompany will be significant for Burnley after their relegation back to the Championship.

Burnley on track for major Kompany payout

For any club that has just been relegated, they will see the compensation fee as a bonus,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

It will be a significant fee because they don’t generate a lot of money through the turnstiles and so on.

Kompany is certainly held in high regard, he’s an extremely intelligent guy, multi-talented and certainly a brilliant asset as a coach.

So I think Bayern have looked beyond the results from last season and are aware they are buying a tactician and a very technical coach.

He’s very eloquent both on an off the pitch and was very popular in the dressing room and the boardroom.
