Burnley have had a bid rejected by Sheffield United for full-back Harrison Burrows, sources have told Football Insider.

Burrows has emerged as a top target for the Clarets as they aim to complete an eleventh hour deal for his services.

English clubs have until 11pm tonight to agree on moves, with another two hours to finalise paperwork if a deal sheet is submitted to the EFL.

United are reluctant to lose Burrows so late in the window as he remains a key to Chris Wilder's plans for the season.

Burnley will have to return with an improved offer to stand any chance of completing a deal before the deadline passes.

Burrows has been a regular for the Blades throughout the last two seasons, establishing himself as one of the best left-backs in the Championship.

Burrows came through the ranks at Peterborough United and featured 185 times for his boyhood club between 2017 and 2024.

He emerged as a standout in his final season at London Road, registering 12 goals and 17 assists in 58 appearances as he was included in the League One Team of the Season and also named as the division's Player of the Season.

Burrows has racked up 21 goal contributions in 96 appearances for United since he moved to Bramall Lane for around £3million.

Sources revealed to Football Insider earlier in the summer that West Ham were preparing to bid to sign Burrows, but their interest is yet to proceed any further.

Wilder insisted over the weekend that Burrows' absence from United's last two league games has been injury-related, but now he has emerged as a top target for the promotion-chasing Clarets.

Wolves set to seal Sean Neave signing as medical underway

Championship clubs have been busy in the last few days ahead of the deadline, with fellow recently-relegated club Wolves also trying to get some business over the line.

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Newcastle have agreed to loan young striker Neave to the Molineux club and he is undergoing a medical this evening.

Neave, 19, played twice for the Magpies first team last season, and bagged 15 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions for their under-21s.
