Caixinha delivers four-word response when asked if he is still Rangers manager on Thursday afternoon

Pedro Caixinha has confirmed that he is still Rangers managers after a reported meeting with the board on Thursday morning.

Sky Sports had reported that the Ibrox hierarchy wanted to hold crunch talks with Caixinha after a desperately poor run of results that have seen the Gers knocked out of the Scottish League Cup and fall eight points behind Premiership leaders Celtic.

However, when asked by STV reporter Raman Bhardwaj while leaving the Gers training base at Auchenhowie on Thursday afternoon, Caixinha gave a simple four-word response to a question about whether he is still in charge.

”Of course I am,” he said, as quoted on Bhardwaj’s personal Twitter account.

Caixinha has come under intense pressure at Ibrox following Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Motherwell at Hampden Park in the League Cup semi-final.

On Wednesday night, things didn’t get much better as Steve Clarke’s Kilmarnock rescued a late 1-1 draw at Ibrox in a stunning climax.

Rangers have endured a number of poor results since Caixinha took charge in March following Mark Warburton’s acrimonious exit.

The Light Blues have been handed a 5-1 hammering by Old Firm rivals Celtic, been knocked out of the Europa League by minnows Progres Niederkorn and now have had to deal with Caixinha being handed a one-match touchline ban for his antics against Motherwell.

In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton took a huge swipe at Caixinha following Wednesday’s draw against Killie.
