Caixinha explains the type of players he has brought into Rangers this summer
By Harvey Byrne
Pedro Caixinha has explained that he has looked to bring character, men and personalities to Rangers this summer alongside those who can control matches.
The 46-year-old was appointed as the Ibrox boss in March, taking over from then caretaker Graeme Murty following the exit of Mark Warburton in February.
The Portuguese national has so far had a difficult five months in Glasgow, compounded by a third place Premiership finish alongside humiliation in the Europa League after being dumped out by Progres Niederkorn in the Europa League first stage of qualifying.
However, he has also been backed in the transfer market this summer, bringing in nine players in total.
Now, he has told on Thursday, as quoted by the official Rangers Twitter account that he has looked to bring in players who are mentally strong alongside having the ability to be able to control a game.
Of Caixinha’s signings this summer veteran Bruno Alves is included alongside experienced midfielder Graham Dorrans and former Aberdeen midfield ace Ryan Jack.
Neither Dorrans or Alves were included in the Europa League clash, but both will be hoping to make an impact in Sunday’s Premiership opener against Motherwell.
In other Rangers news, Tam McManus has predicted the Gers’ 2017-18 finish.
