Calvin Bassey and Raul Jimenez respond to new contract announcement at Fulham
Calvin Bassey and Raul Jimenez have reacted to the announcement of an exciting new contract signing at Fulham this summer.
The Cottagers finished the 2024/25 campaign on a sour note, winning just two of their final seven matches, including a 2-0 defeat to Man City on the final day of the Premier League season.
This saw Marco Silva’s side drop to 11th in the league table, below the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth, and Brentford, with the manager’s future at Fulham being called into question.
While there are few signs of unrest in the dugout, the Portuguese figure is known for swapping projects in search of the right fit, though links to Tottenham have vanished following the appointment of Thomas Frank.
Craven Cottage is home to several Premier League stars, many of whom could feature in teams higher up the table, and fans are delighted to see the latest contract update in West London.

Fulham academy star Luc de Fougerolles pens new terms
Taking to Instagram (11 July), the official club account wrote: “New contract. Luc de Fougerolles has signed a four-year deal!” with the post gaining likes from Bassey and Jimenez.
With just one senior appearance since arriving at the academy at the age of eight, supporters in the comments are calling for the now-19-year-old to be given more opportunities in the first team.
There is no doubt over the centre-back’s abilities, already boasting seven caps for the Canada national team, but Silva has yet to trust him fully with a call-up at Craven Cottage.
Marco Silva to push for European qualification
Football Insider verdict
The Cottagers have been slowly improving on the pitch, but with a lack of exciting investment into the squad, Silva has only been able to take them so far during his tenure.
He is an extremely talented manager, one with experience across spells with Sporting CP, Olympiacos, Watford, and Everton, and is likely looking for his big break into a European side.
Football Insider understands that Fulham owners have written off £70million worth of debt in recent weeks, with supporters now expecting some major changes on the pitch this summer.

Moves for Emile Smith Rowe, Jorge Cuenca, and Joachim Andersen are all exciting transfers, but outside of those deals, the Cottagers’ transfer plans have left a lot to be desired.
Although there are no fresh noises emerging over Silva’s future in West London, supporters will likely become more and more fearful of his departure as the summer transfer window drags on.
Securing youngsters to new deals is certainly a step in the right direction, especially given De Fougerolles’ performances for the academy, but they need to be shown more ambition by the club.
