Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Bright Osayi-Samuel as Rangers reportedly re-ignite their pursuit of the Fenerbahce winger.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton forward said the 23-year-old would be a “cheap” signing for a fee in the region of £3million.
According to Fotospor (3 June), Rangers and Celtic are both back in the hunt to sign Osayi-Samuel just five months on from his move from QPR to Fenerbahce.
It is said that the wide-attacker could be available for as little as £3million this summer with the Turkish side looking to raise £15million in player sales.
This site revealed on 19 January that the Light Blues held an interest in Osayi-Samuel prior to his transfer to Turkey.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the winger potentially moving to Ibrox, Campbell said: “I think he would be a good signing at £3million.
“He is a player who has been long-linked with Rangers. They have clearly been coveting him for a while.
“A player of that quality for £3million is cheap money. Even though the transfer market in Scotland is different, that is cheap. I think that is about right for a player with a lot still to come.
“He has got bags of pace, he is direct and he is a threat. I think he would do brilliantly in Scotland.”
Osayi-Samuel’s former manager Mark Warburton told the Kilburn Times that the Nigerian attacker has “blistering pace”.
He has four years remaining on his contract at Fenerbahce.
