Campbell issues ‘honest’ Saliba claim after update on his Arsenal future
Kevin Campbell has poured cold water over the idea William Saliba is not fully committed to Arsenal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker is confident the 20-year-old will return to the Emirates next summer to be a part of Mikel Arteta’s side.
Speaking to Eurosport last Friday (17 December), Saliba revealed he felt like “nobody” at Arsenal but described the experience as a positive reality check.

The centre-half added that he’s “not thinking about returning to Arsenal” and is solely focused on Marseille, whom he joined on a season-long loan in July.
Mikel Arteta currently has Gabriel Magalhaes, Ben White, Rob Holding and Pablo Mari as his centre-back options.
When asked by Football Insider if Saliba’s comments cast any doubt over his Arsenal future, Campbell said: “No, no, no.
“Listen to the words. He is showing the right mindset.
“His mind is on Marseille and so it should be right now because that is who he is playing for. He is going to be fully committed while he is there. You can imagine he is being asked these questions time and time again.
“Whatever happens he’s an Arsenal player. I ain’t that fussed about it, if I’m honest. Let’s not make more of it than it is.”

Saliba joined Arsenal from Saint-Etienne in a £27million deal in 2019.
He is yet to make his debut for the Gunners.
