Campbell makes ‘massive’ Arsenal claim after latest on bid to sign Vlahovic
Kevin Campbell has told Arsenal to pursue alternative targets after Dusan Vlahovic’s stance on a move to north London was revealed.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton goalscorer urged the club to only sign players who are desperate to be a part of Mikel Arteta’s side.
As reported by Football.London (19 December), Arsenal’s search for a new striker has “seemingly intensified” after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was stripped of the captaincy.

However, the Gunners appear unlikely to win the race to sign coveted Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.
According to Fabrizio Romano (11 December), Vlahovic is “not interested” in a move to the Emirates despite the club’s interest.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the news, Campbell said: “If Vlahovic does not want to come then you have to look at alternatives.
“The recruitment side of things, it’s massively important for Arsenal.
“First and foremost, you want to sign players who want to come to your club. If Vlahovic does not want to come the club have to look elsewhere. That is the name of the game.
“I’m sure there are plenty of strikers out there who would want to come to Arsenal and who would hit the ground running. You want players who really want to be at the football club.
“If that’s the case you accept it and move onto other targets.”

Vlahovic has been one of Europe’s outstanding strikers this season.
He has scored 18 goals in 20 games across all competitions.
