Campbell: This may be secret behind Grant ‘transformation’ at West Brom
Kevin Campbell has claimed West Brom forward Karlan Grant has transformed under the management of Valerien Ismael.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Albion and Arsenal striker claimed Ismael’s style of play is helping to bring out the best in Grant, 23, this season.
A £15million signing from Huddersfield in October 2020, Grant struggled under Slaven Bilic and Sam Allardyce in his first year at The Hawthorns.

However, the striker has started the 2021-22 campaign in electric form for the Baggies and has contributed one goal and two assists in his last three appearances.
Ismael has utilised Grant as both a left-winger and a central striker to great effect in the opening four games of the Championship season.
Speaking on his form last week, Ismael backed the English forward “to score plenty of goals” now he is “on the right track”.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Grant’s turnaround, Campbell said: “Wow, Grant looks like a different player.
“In Ismael he has a manager who is going to help him progress. He will keep the narrative simple and will just go and let him play.

“Ismael loves to attack and we have seen that already this season. He does not like to sit back. That style of play suits Grant.
“He’s not a new player but he is a transformed player. He’s making the best of what he’s got and is starting to prove himself at West Brom now.”
