Caoimhin Kelleher ‘will leave Liverpool this summer’ amid insider’s Chelsea claim
Chelsea remain interested in signing a goalkeeper in the summer transfer window after Enzo Maresca has failed to settle on a first-choice option this season.
Robert Sanchez initially started as the number-one goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge under the new Blues boss, but he has slipped down the pecking order after a series of mistakes and poor performances.
The former Brighton goalkeeper has made five mistakes this season that have led directly to goals in the Premier League, proving costly for the team.
Filip Jorgensen has since come into the team, but it remains to be seen whether or not Maresca trusts him in that role in the long term.
Football Insider revealed Chelsea held talks over signing a new goalkeeper in the January transfer window, but a suitable and available target couldn’t be found.
Industry insider Mick Brown revealed to Football Insider that the Blues are willing to meet Liverpool’s demands to sign Caoimhin Kelleher in the summer transfer window to try and solve this situation.

Liverpool will look to make profit from Caoimhin Kelleher
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson revealed this summer will be Liverpool’s opportunity to make “pure profit” from Kelleher due to his contract status.
“We talk about Chelsea’s goalkeeping situation because what they’ve got is not good enough to compete at the level they want to compete at,” Robinson told Football Insider.
“Robert Sanchez for me is not a Chelsea goalkeeper in a Champions League team if that’s where they want to be.
“Playing out from the back, the errors leading to goals, he’s up there with some of the highest numbers in the Premier League.
“Chelsea are two players, two positions light for me, the most important two on the pitch, number nine and the goalkeeper.
“That’s where they should have invested.
“Kelleher is a good goalkeeper and he’s going to move on from Liverpool.
“He’ll be hugely disappointed because he’s given his [all], the services he’s given Liverpool, the opportunities that he’s had, he’s never let them down.
“He’s developed as a goalkeeper, but the money that they’re going to get is pure profit.
“He’s out of contract at the end of next season, not this season, so everything points to an exit for him.
“Is Chelsea an obvious choice? It’s not an obvious choice, but Chelsea are going to recruit.
“Chelsea do need a goalkeeper. What would he cost? 20, 25 million.
“If Liverpool are to get a profit for him, it’s going to be this summer.”

Caoimhin Kelleher is ready to be a first-choice option, potentially at Chelsea
Kelleher has spent the majority of his Liverpool career as the back-up option to Alisson Becker, only getting a run in the team when the Brazil international is injured.
Football Insider revealed that Kelleher is looking to leave Anfield in the summer transfer window in a bid to gain more regular playing time.
Competition | Appearances | Goals Conceded | Clean Sheets | Minutes Played |

Football Insider also exclusively reported that the Reds are willing to entertain offers of £30-40 million for Kelleher.
