‘Carlo Ancelotti to leave Real Madrid’ in new Alexander-Arnold twist
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool exit has been questioned as Carlo Ancelotti is now considered likely to leave Real Madrid ahead of the off-season.
Following their exit from the Champions League after losing 5-1 against Arsenal over two legs, the Italian serial-winning boss’ long-term future is no longer guaranteed.
Real Madrid will face Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final on 26 April, and the game has now been highlighted as Ancelotti’s final game with Los Blancos.
Widely shared reports have claimed Alexander-Arnold has agreed to join Ancelotti’s side – leading to speculation about his future under a new boss.
However, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has told Football Insider the manager’s departure is unlikely to affect the Liverpool star’s decision.

Trent Alexander-Arnold to join Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid
Bayer Leverkusen boss and former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has been heavily tipped to replace Ancelotti in Madrid – in what could be a boost for Alexander-Arnold.
As reported by Football Insider in November, Liverpool fans expect Alexander-Arnold to join Alonso in Madrid after the right-back posted a picture of the pair together on Instagram.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson explained that the Spaniard knows the England international well and he would be a good fit in his team should he be chosen to take over from Ancelotti.
“I spoke to Spanish journalists in January or February,” he told Football Insider.
“They were very confident that the successor to Carlo Ancelotti would be Xabi Alonso.
“Ancelotti is going to go next week, they’ve got the Copa del Rey final and reports are saying he’s going to go after that.
“Listen, it’s a good fit for Trent because Alonso obviously knows him from Liverpool.
“He’ll have worked with him as a youngster, spent a lot of time and will have a lot of respect for him.
“So people are questioning what will happen to Alexander-Arnold going to Real Madrid with a new manager, will it even happen?
“Well, if it’s Xabi Alonso, it certainly will.”

Liverpool could lose Ibrahima Konate after Real Madrid latest
As speculation about the future of Ancelotti continues, Real Madrid are eyeing a busy summer transfer window with a number of Premier League stars on their radar.
Football Insider revealed on 18 April that Madrid want to sign Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool following their deal to sign Alexander-Arnold.
Sources say Real Madrid are “very interested” in the 25-year-old, while PSG are also interested in tempting him to move back to France.
The centre-back will have just one year remaining on his contract in June after Football Insider revealed Liverpool’s contract talks with Konate have stalled.
