Cedric Soares: ‘Time has come’ for defender to quit Arsenal after journalist’s update
Kevin Campbell has claimed “the time has come” for Cedric Soares to leave Arsenal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker said the 30-year-old is “not the answer” at right-back and will likely leave in the summer window.
According to Football.London‘s Kaya Kaynak (7 February), the right-back is open to leaving the Emirates at the end of the season.

Cedric has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular at Arsenal since joining on a free transfer from Southampton in July 2020.
The 34-cap Portugal international has a contract at the Emirates runs until the summer of 2024.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the Portugal international’s future, Campbell said:
“Cedric was brought in to try and sort out that right-back position but it didn’t quite happen for him. He’s had good games and bad games.
“Arsenal took a chance on him because he cost nothing. He has done OK but he is not the answer.
“Takehiro Tomiyasu has come in and you can see the difference immediately. Tomiyasu is big, strong, aggressive and athletic.
“Cedric has done OK but, the time has come to move him on and say goodbye.”
Cedric has struggled for game time since the arrival of Tomiyasu and he has made just nine appearances across all competitions this season.
In total, the right-back has contributed one goal and four assists in 38 appearances for Mikel Arteta’s side.
In other news, a pundit has claimed an Arsenal big name has just ‘six months’ to save his Emirates career after a picture emerges.
