Ntcham delivers three-word Twitter verdict on Celtic v Rangers clash
Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham took to Twitter to say how ‘proud’ he was following the Hoops 3-2 win over Rangers at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
And he called the Old Firm encounter a “hard and great” match.
The victory was a veritable six-pointer and reinstated the gap at the top of the table to nine points, ending any hopes their old foes had of pipping the Bhoys to the championship title.
Writing on his official Twitter feed, the 22-year-old Frenchman said, ‘It was a derby. Pressure, tension, goals, saves, red card… a hard and great Derby!!! And we won it. That’s it. Proud of my team.’
There was a lot of talk in the run-up to this latest installment, particularly from Rangers who were brimming with confidence pre-match, that they could threaten the Hoops.
But goals from Tom Rogic, Moussa Dembele, and Odsonne Edouard ensured Bhoys dominance remained in Glasgow.
Football Insider verdict:
Ntcham ought to be proud of his team – they went to Ibrox with pressure at an all-time high given the potential for Graeme Murty’s side to cut the points difference to three and under an intense and gung-ho atmosphere, they took maximum points, putting the Light Blues back in their place. All that being said, Rangers aren’t far away in terms of quality and a few improvements in the summer means they could mount a real threat to the Hoops next season.
