Celtic backed to complete top-class Alex Collado signing after update – McLeish
Alex Collado could be another “shrewd” Celtic signing championed by Ange Postecoglou.
That’s according to former Rangers and Scotland boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Hoops’ next transfer move.
Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph reported on Tuesday (9 August), that Celtic had made an enquiry for Barcelona’s attacking midfielder Collado.

However, Football Scotland (10 August), claim reports of Celtic interest the 23-year-old are wide of the mark.
Postecoglou has signed no less than six attackers since taking charge of the club in the summer of 2021.
Despite this, McLeish claims Collado could be another quality addition.
“The one thing that came across in Postecoglou’s time in the energy and speed of Celtic’s play,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Ben Wild.
“You get that because you have the right players to do that. If this guy is another speed merchant and someone who is going to run the way the others have run for Postecoglou, you would think it is another good addition.
“It has also been discussed in the past that Postecoglou is a bit of an old-school manager in terms of knowing the type of player that is coming in.
“Nowadays, there are a lot of guys doing the recruitment with algorithms. The manager sometimes doesn’t even see the player nowadays.
“It’s bringing in these shrewd signings, the ones who can help the club financially and make the difference in the games.”

Celtic’s only attacking signing this summer has been Jota, whose loan move from last season was made permanent.
The Hoops are next in action against Kilmarnock on Sunday (14 August).
In other news, an expert has suggested this may be real reason Alexandro Bernabei yet to make Celtic debut.
