Celtic backed to sign ‘dynamic’ striker as Divock Origi cited – pundit
Noel Whelan has backed Celtic to add a “dynamic” striker this summer despite already having Giorgos Giakoumakis, Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda to choose from.
The former Leeds and Aberdeen star, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Hoops wouldn’t be “oversaturating” their front line because of Ange Postecoglou’s “fluid” system.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT (24 July), Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph claimed Celtic are looking to add another striker before the summer window closes.

Meanwhile, Postecoglou has revealed (8 July) that Ajeti’s future at Parkhead remains uncertain after his underwhelming spell at the club.
Celtic were the Scottish Premiership’s leading scorers last term, netting 12 more strikes than fierce rivals Rangers on their way to regaining the title.
The Hoops have already strengthened this summer with the additions of Moritz Jenz, Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Aaron Mooy – among others.
Whelan suggested Postecoglou could now turn attention to a “fluid attacker” in the mould of former Liverpool man Divock Origi.
“We know that some of these strikers had injuries last season, so Postecoglou will want more choice,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“There’s a reason behind whoever they go for, I feel. I’m sure they’ll be looking for players who can play all the way along the front three.
“You’ve got to cover these bases. Is it oversaturating the area? Sometimes not, if you’re looking for these fluid attackers who can adapt to different roles.

“They were very attacking, very dynamic last season – scored plenty of goals. Postecoglou knows what he’s doing.
“There are a lot of strikers nowadays who can play off the right or left, people like Salah, Mane, Origi.”
