Rodgers delivers verdict on Dembele future after in-demand Celtic striker drops huge hint
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that the club will be calling the shots when it comes to the future of striker Moussa Dembele.
The 21-year-old is a man in demand and has caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton.
The Frenchman is prepared to stay at Celtic Park but admitted for the first time that he could leave the club when the transfer window opens in January.
“I can say it is part of the plan (to stay) – but the plan can change. It can change,” said Dembele, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“As long as I am here I will give 100 per cent,” added the France Under-21 international.
The striker has scored eight goals in 17 appearances this season, despite suffering with a hamstring injury. The interest in the forward is heating up and he could be lured away from the club in the New Year.

However, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has insisted that the club will have the final say over the player’s future.
“It’s part of the nature of a team performing well and players performing at a good level,” said Rodgers.
“Others then see potential in players and that will always be the case. And it is how it is here – players come through and come on and then of course they move on. But that’s only when we want them to.”
The club value the striker at least £30million and are under no pressure to sell their star man.
However, £30millon is a price tag that is well within the reach of the Premier League clubs who are said to be interested. It has also been reported recently that newly-promoted Brighton are ready to test the waters with a £20million bid in January.
Meanwhile, Rodgers’ side are five points clear of second-place Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership table and face Hamilton at Celtic Park this evening.
In other Celtic news, Hoops fans have reacted to this claim from striker Leigh Griffiths.
