Celtic could sanction Giorgios Giakoumakis exit after journalist’s update – pundit
Alan Hutton is adamant Celtic are willing to listen to offers for Giorgios Giakoumakis.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers defender said clubs like Celtic and Rangers will always want to bring in a “large fee” for players.
The 27-year-old was on the bench for the Bhoys’ game against Kilmarnock on Sunday (14 August).
Giakoumakis replaced Kyogo Furuhashi to score the final goal in the side’s 5-0 victory.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano (16 August), the Greece international is the subject of interest from Premier League clubs.
Ange Postecoglou’s side are said to have no intention of selling the striker, who has four years remaining on his contract with at Parkhead.
When asked if Celtic would be willing to listen if the right offer came in, Hutton told Football Insider: “Of course.
“Look at the likes of [Odsonne] Edouard, he went for £14million. If we’re talking about a big sum of money of course Rangers or Celtic, doesn’t matter who the player is, will always want to bring in a large fee.

“I think we’ll have to wait and see what kind of money we’re talking about. If it’s a silly bid from a team that’s trying to fight relegation, why would you leave? Celtic, who have got Champions League football who are going for the league, they’re fighting on all fronts.
“Does he start week in week out? No but that’s because they’re so strong at this moment in time. Surely you want to be part of that. I think it all depends on what club and how much we’re talking.“
