Celtic exit beckons for Edouard after confirmed news - Campbell

Odsonne Edouard will leave Celtic this summer even though a move to Leicester City appears to be off the cards.

That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 23-year-old’s future after the arrival of Kyogo Furuhashi.

On Friday, Celtic confirmed the signing of Japanese striker Furuhashi on a four-year deal from J-League side Vissel Kobe.

Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou now has four senior strikers at his disposal – Furuhashi, Leigh Griffiths, Albian Ajeti and Odsonne Edouard.

Football Insider revealed on June 19th that Edouard has told his friends he is expects to leave the Bhoys by the end of this transfer window.

West Ham are weighing up whether to re-ignite their bid to sign the Frenchman after frontrunners Leicester City opted to sign Patson Daka instead.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Edouard’s future, Campbell said:

“I’ll be honest with you, it is going to happen.

“Edouard will want it to happen pretty quickly and I think the reason it has taken a little bit longer is because the move to Leicester fell through. I thought he was going to go and play under Brendan Rodgers again.

“He will be worried about getting injured in pre-season because if you’re injured you have to toe the line. But I think he will be alright and I think he will get his move in the end.”
