Whelan impressed by what he's seen from Edouard after Celtic friends reveal
Noel Whelan has lauded the attitude of Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard after taking part in the club’s pre-season plans.
The former Aberdeen hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, praised the Frenchman for not “spitting his dummy out”.
Edouard, 23, scored in Celtic’s first pre-season game last week, a 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
Edouard has been heavily linked with a move away from Celtic this summer and has drawn interest from West Ham.
On 19th June, Football Insider revealed West Ham are weighing up whether to reignite their interest in Edouard.
The player’s latest situation is that he is is still hankering after a move, with a source telling Football Insider that Edouard has told friends he is expected to leave Parkhead by the end of this summer window.

Whelan has praised Edouard’s conduct as he is still contributing despite wanting to leave.
“It shows the right attitude,” Whelan told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“What I don’t like and don’t enjoy is players spitting their dummies out when they want a move.
“You are still contracted and getting paid by the club, you show them the same respect you showed when you first signed.
“Look, it’s a difficult situation for the club and Edouard but the good thing is he’s going out there and scoring.
“He’s obviously putting the effort in which is what you want to see.
“Whether it’s for Celtic or he’s doing it to get a move, which is likely, it doesn’t matter.
“As long as he’s showing the right respect to the football club, that’s the way I like to see players act.
“It’s not about forcing a move by not playing or not going to training.
“No club wants to see that, especially a club who might be interested in him.
“It’s great to see him out there.”
