Celtic expert drops ‘idiot’ claim after Scottish Cup latest
Frank McAvennie is hopeful the ticket allocation not given to Inverness Caledonian Thistle for the Scottish Cup final will go to Celtic fans.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker doesn’t want to remaining tickets to go to “idiots who have nothing to do with the football”.
As relayed by the Sun (3 May), Inverness are set to receive 8,000 tickets for the clash against the Celts at Hampden next month.
Caley Thistle will have the option of a further 2,000 on top of that, if there is demand with the Celts receiving the majority of tickets for the national stadium.
Inverness managed to attract 4,000 fans to Hampden for the semi-final against League One side Falkirk, despite the 12.15pm kick off.
The Scottish Cup final has been moved from its usual 3pm Saturday slot to the later time of 5.30pm to avoid clashing with the FA Cup final, putting more pressure on fans making the trip from the Highlands.
When asked if he thought Inverness deserved more tickets, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I think 10,000 will be fair.

“I do not even know if they will sell that. As long as they give the rest to Celtic supporters and not the idiots who have nothing to do with the football. That takes away from the supporters who follow the team home and away.
“If they sell their 10,000 I am sure there will be another few thousand for them. I think they will have spoken to Inverness who have said it will be enough.“
In other news, Celtic fear Postecoglou has already decided to join Premier League club.
