Celtic expert lambasts Rangers after confirmed news – ‘someone told me…’
Frank McAvennie has slammed Rangers for only giving Celtic 700 tickets for the Glasgow Derby.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker said it is pointless for the Celts to be given any tickets at all.
As relayed by the Daily Record (20 December), the Green and Whites confirmed that their allocation for the 2 January derby clash with Rangers is limited to just 708 tickets.
Hoops fans used to take up the whole of the Broomloan end at Ibrox on derby days but now receive only ten per cent of their previous allocation.
McAvennie is unhappy with the decision taken by the Gers once again.
βSomeone told me it was something to do with Celtic and Rangers TV,β he told Football Insider.
βSomebody else told me it was to do with Celtic being so strong and winning all the time that they got fed up with them celebrating in front of the fans.
βJust give them 2,000 or 3,000 supporters. That is what the game is all about.

βThe way things are going they just have an extra 2,000 of their own fans in to scream and shout at them because they are not playing well.
βI am old school and just used to seeing thousands of Celtic fans and now it is just 700. What is the point, just give us nothing. I would not go. It is a situation I would not put myself in.β
