Celtic expert livid with Moussa Dembele after new talks held – ‘unbelievable’
Frank McAvennie insists that Moussa Dembele should be playing at the “top level” amid interest from Man United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Celtic hitman said he was “really annoyed” when Dembele moved back to France after his time with the Hoops.
According to French outlet MediaFoot, as reported in the Daily Record on Thursday (14 July), the 26-year-old has held talks with United.
The forward has a year remaining on his contract at Olympique Lyon after joining from Celtic in 2018.
It is understood that Celtic have retained a ten per cent sell-on clause for Dembele following his sale to the Ligue 1 club four years ago.
The Frenchman also spent a season on loan with Atletico Madrid.
When asked for his assessment of the latest, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I’m really annoyed at Dembele because when he went back to France I was so disappointed.
“He should be playing at the top level, he is an unbelievable talent. Then he went to France and I thought why is he going there because he could have gone anywhere.
“And now that clubs like Man United are interested I can see why because he’s a talent.

“I was disappointed when he left Celtic and even more disappointed when he went to France because that’s not a better league than Scotland.
“Teams like Man United should be looking for him because he is a good player.“
In other news, a pundit has suggested Celtic will only wait a few more weeks for ‘top choice’ Vinicius Souza after journalist’s update.
