Celtic fans all say the same thing about what Kasper Schmeichel did vs Hibernian

Celtic fans spotted a concern with goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel during their crucial Scottish Premiership victory at Hibs.

Daizen Maeda and Arne Engels scored as Celtic beat Hibs 2-1 at Easter Road to move to within two points of leaders Hearts.

The match was expected to be Martin O’Neill’s final game as interim boss, but delays with Wilfried Nancy’s work permit means the 73-year-old will be in the dugout against Dundee.

Schmeichel made a couple of important late saves to ensure Celtic claimed all three points against Hibs, though fans were still left unimpressed with the shot stopper on social media.

Kasper Schmeichel slammed for penalty moment

Schmeichel has previously been criticised for his performances in-between the sticks this season and Celtic could sign a new goalkeeper to replace the Dane next summer.

Hibs were awarded a controversial penalty in the second half, when Liam Scales was penalised for a handball in the penalty area.

Martin Boyle converted the spot kick, and Celtic supporters were quick to notice that Schmeichel did not attempt to save the penalty.

Schmeichel stood still in the centre of the goal as Boyle slotted the ball into the bottom right corner of the net.

Celtic fans were not happy that Schmeichel did not attempt to save the penalty, which created a tense final 35 minutes, with one fan pointing out that the goalkeeper has never saved a spot kick in his time at the club.
