Celtic fans expect Matt O’Riley to leave after news on record-breaking offer

Celtic fans are expecting Matt O’Riley to leave Parkhead this summer as Southampton ready a record-breaking offer.

Reports in Scotland claimed the Saints are readying an opening bid of an initial £20million for the midfielder with future add-ons potentially making the deal a Scottish record sale.

A Celtic player also set the current transfer record when Kieran Tierney left to join Arsenal for £25million in 2019.

O’Riley, 23, has attracted interest from clubs across Europe after scoring 19 goals and providing 18 assists in 49 games for Celtic last season.

Southampton have turned their attention to the Danish star in an attempt to strengthen their options following their promotion to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, a poll carried out on social media showed that the majority of supporters are expecting O’Riley to be sold amid plenty of interest this summer.
